Fire Safety Engineering
Guidance documents provide advice for meeting fire safety requirements in simple or standard buildings, but if you are planning on an innovative design, or converting an existing building to another use, Fire Engineering may be the only practical means of achieving this.
Fire Engineering can also be used to overcome specific, isolated problems in otherwise compliant building proposals and designs. We are often asked to help in the resolution of issues where a Building Control Body has refused an application for a defined fire safety reason.
There are also significant potential cost savings to be made if a Fire Engineer can be included in the early stages of a project, by providing a performance based design that can improve safety, whilst reducing the overall spend on the fire safety elements.
The methods we use here at Pentrevion Fire are:
- Computational fire and smoke modelling.
- ASET v RSET calculations and analysis.
- Fundamental principles and reasoned argument.
- Technical reports and fire strategy documents.
If you currently have a project in the design stages or are planning one in the near future, please give us a call to discuss your particular requirements.
