Tim has worked as a Senior Fire Engineer with a Local Authority and Commercial Company for a number of years.  Experienced in the design stages of fire engineering, including research, computational modelling and fire strategy production.

Target focused, with an in depth understanding of the fundamental principles of fire safety and fire engineering, is able to produce bespoke solutions to unusual and unique problems.

Understands the balance between costs, business continuity and resilience and is focused on meeting client requirements in a safe, pragmatic and cost effective manner.

Tim works as the Senior Fire Engineer with Pentrevion Fire and his responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of Fire Engineers
  • Project Managing Fire Engineering work
  • Developing fire safety strategies and fire safety management plans for a variety of clients and building types.
  • Using CFD Modelling to prove bespoke fire safety designs
  • Research on fire related topics
  • Liaising with clients and architects regarding fire engineering projects
  • Carrying out site visits to understand client requirements and manage realistic expectations
  • Producing fire safety reports for clients
  • Advising on project costings and time frames
  • Carrying out fire risk assessments of complex buildings
  • Undertaking training and performance management for team of fire engineers and safety fire consultants
  • Providing technical advice and support to other fire safety staff and project teams.

Tim’s key skills and competencies include:

  • a comprehensive understanding of fire engineering and design principles
  • a competent use of CFD modelling software, in particular Fire Dynamics Simulator and Pyrosim
  • the development of competency frameworks and development processes for fire safety staff
  • the ability to work to tight deadlines and within recognised project management frameworks, i.e. Prince II.
